What do you THINK?

I have been inspired by a few blogging friends that have chosen a "word or phrase" of the year.
There have been some good ones shared and it got me pondering about what a good word for myself might be.
I am all too happy to leave 2011 behind, not because anything bad happened but because I now have a new year and a fresh start.  I thought and thought and pondered and thought some more on what word would inspire me to be a better person and I think I have come up with a good one for me.
It is THINK.
I chose THINK as a good reminder word for me to stop and think about the things I say, the comments I make, the judgements and criticisms I jump to.
Then I got to thinking about other areas in my life that I could apply this technique to, such as thinking more deeply about Sunday School lessons, thinking about things through out the day that I need to give thanks for at the end of the day, thinking about trials that others might be going through and have more compassion for them.
Another area I need to stop and think about is how best to use my time and talents.
How to share those talents with others.

I also need to stop and think before making unnecessary purchases, I need to ask if it is a want or a need.
I need to think more positive thoughts throughout the day.

So for me, stopping to think more often about the things I do rather than just jumping in with both feet first,  then maybe I can learn to do better in all areas of my life.  It certainly couldn't hurt.

I THINK I like my new word!

That's a good word, Connie. So simple, but so relevant! Are you gonna put it in vinyl?? Can't wait to see what you do with it!

I think that is a fabulous word.
I have enjoyed going to various blogs and finding out what word they are using for the year.

I still haven't got my last year's word.

I need to do some "thinking" about it too.

Hey Connie that is a GREAT word. Last year I noticed that my phrase for the year was "Be WHERE YOU ARE AT" be there in the moment. Last week I was looking for my yearly little book to jot my thoughts in and I found a darling one that had that thought on it. You should look for a little THINKING book. It's great for church too. My other thought I always say is something my typing teacher told us in high school. "Use your head to save your feet." I can't tell you HOW many times I have repeated that to my children and grandchildren. LOL Well, here's to THINKING :)

Very good word :) I like how you actual took the time to "think" about it and it means a lot. I have a feeling we will be seeing this word through this new year :)

"Thinking" is always a good thing. ;O)

No, seriously.. I have been out of the loop in bloggy land lately.. and I think going with a word theme is a great idea.

I am 100% on board with the desire to think about the things we say, comment, judge, etc. Its so easy for us to pass judgement. We have to remember compassion and as the old saying goes.. until you've walked in someone's shoes....

I need a word of my own.

I love it. I find that I can't "think" unless I sit still once in a while in the quiet. That is my challenge.
