Prognosis is Looking Good

I think I am going to live.

I wasn't sure there for awhile, it felt like I had been run over by a truck that kept backing up and doing it again and again.

All that is left is the headache and stuffy nose and plugged ears.  {That kinda sounds not so fun but compared to the whole achy/fever thing it seems like a picnic}

I actually got out of my pj's for the first since Monday.

Thank your for all of your kind comments and hugs and prayers.

 Blog buddies are the best!

MARK NEXT TUESDAY ON YOUR CALENDAR

You won't want to miss this BIG EVENT that will debut on my blog next Tuesday.

Here is a hint:
It could relieve stress.

Watch for more clues to come.

MEET ME ON MONDAY

Another week and another Meet Me On Monday linky party.  These are a great way to get to know other bloggers.  Join in with us, it's fun.

Questions:

1. Crunchy or soft tacos?

Crunchy.  I really like the Taco Bell brand they sell in the grocery stores.  They are thin and crunchy.

2. Do you scrapbook?

Not really.  I attempted to at one time but realized that it would take over my life.

3. Do you take any daily medications?

Yep, I take thyroid meds and Prilosec for heartburn.  What can I say, I am getting old.

4. What is your favorite sound?

I love the sound of a giggling baby, nothing more pure in this world.
5. Where were you born?

Portland, Oregon.

A POSIE POST

Ok, I agree.  The post title is really lame.

I stalk follow a very sweet blogger and was inspired by her tutorial she had of this flower. Her name is Lori and she is a VERY talented crafter.  I always look forward to her posts, she has the best ideas.

Here is my attempt at creating these cute paper flowers.

I actually used double sided card stock where Lori used two different papers.
Be sure and go to Lori's blog for a great tutorial on making these.
THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION LORI!

YOU SAY SODA, I SAY POP

Apparently I created a controversy with one of my answers to the Meet Me On Monday post.

The question was:

Coke or Pepsi?

I answered that I don't drink lots of "pop" but I do kinda like drinking Dr. Pepper if I drink any at all.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllll,
evidently people have their own way of referring to their soft drinks. I got a kick out of this, apparently I live a very sheltered life here in the Pacific Northwest.

I got all kinds of examples of how it is referred to depending on what part of the country you are from.

So what do you call
 'CARBONATED BEVERAGES'
 where you come from?

Meet Me On Monday

Here is another Monday Meet me linky party.  I love this opportunity it gives me to get to know people who blog that I wouldn't normally just come across.

GO HERE TO PARTICIPATE

 Questions:

1. What jewelry do you wear 24/7?
Just my wedding ring.  If I am not sleeping I usually wear earrings, I can't stand to sleep with earrings on.  In fact I love to make earring to match pretty much anything I wear.

2. Do you twirl your spaghetti or cut it?
I cut my spaghetti, it's too messy otherwise.  Oh ya, with LOTS of parmesean cheese on top.

3. How many siblings do you have?
I have one sister and one brother.

4. Were you named after anyone?
Not that I know of.  As a child I always imagined I was named after Connie Francis. For those who have no clue who she is, she was an actress and singer from the 50's and 60's.

5. Coke or Pepsi?
No preference, I am not a big pop drinker although lately I have been liking the taste of Dr.Pepper.

FUNNY BONE TICKLER

FUNNY COUSINS

I was going through some pictures on my computer and  came across this one of the babies that was taken a couple of months ago.
We were trying to get a good picture of them together.
This one was just screaming for a word bubble or caption of some kind.

Popcorn Popping or Forces of Nature?

Seeing this idea in magazines recently I decided to try it myself.
I cut some branches off of my flowering cherry tree about ten days ago and put them in water.

Not really too attractive at this point.
You can see that there are lots of buds wanting to burst.
This is what they look like today.  Doesn't that look like popcorn?

I am sure you have heard of 'the forces of nature'.
I like to call this 'forcing nature'.

Spring is on its way, YIPEE!

MEET ME ON MONDAY

I have kinda hit a brick wall when it comes to ideas for blog posts.  That is why I decided to do this whole Meet Me On Monday thing.
The questions are already done so all I have to do is answer them and put a link back to the party, go search out new bloggers who are participating and meet some new people.  It doesn't get much easier than that.

Questions:

1. Do you have a fireplace in your home?
No fireplace but we do have a spot to put a pellet stove...someday.  We used to have a wood stove in our previous home that I loved.  Cutting, hauling, splitting, and stacking the wood were NOT fun though.  That is why we would like to go with the pellet stove, they are so much cleaner.

2. Can you drive a stick shift?
Yes, I can drive a stick shift.  That is what I learned to drive in drivers-ed in high school.  I am so glad I did, it comes in handy at times.  Especially when I buy one of these...ya right, now wake me up from my dream.

3. How many computers are in your home?
We have both a lap top and a desk top computer.

4. Are your taxes done yet? Do you do them yourself?
Taxes are done...check.   I do them myself...check.   I dread it every year...check   Now just waiting on the...CHECK.

5. What is your favorite meal of the day?
I don't have a preference on which meal is my favorite but I must say that I look forward to Friday's though, we usually go out to eat.  One of my favorite things to order is halibut fish and chips.

MY FUN DAYS WITH DAWSON

I had the opportunity to babysit my sweet granddaughter for a couple of days this week.  We had a fun time, we played and cooed and even got some cookies baked.  She is now 5 1/2 months old and learning new things all the time. I absolutely love watching my grandchildren, especially one on one, it's the best.
I even got a picture of her squeezing out a tear, she was getting tired and had pretty much run out of patience with me for taking so many pictures.

SPOTLIGHT SUNDAY

I have a blogging friend, Beverly, who does a Shout Out each Saturday with links to great posts she has come across the previous week.  I love that she shares things that have touched her life and decided to begin a new feature on my blog that is similar.
(Thanks for the idea I am stealing...uh hmmm, borrowing Beverly.)

I decided to do a SPOTLIGHT SUNDAY feature where I link to a blog that has inspired me the previous week.  I will be looking for mostly crafty things that inspire me but will not limit my choices to just crafts.

This week I have chosen Nicole's blog, SWEET PICKLE DESIGNS.  Nicole and her sister also share a blog together called CRAFTY SISTERS, which is also worthy of mention.

Because Nicole is a wood worker and uses lots of the same tools as I do I was immediately attracted to her projects.  Take a minute and go check out the basket she has made for Easter...SO STINKIN' CUTE!!!
Here is a just one photo but you really need to go to her blog and see what else she made.

STYLISH BLOGGER AWARD

I was given this award by Vicki from the Green Eyed Girl Crafts blog.  What a nice surprise Vicki, you are too kind.

Although I have never personally met Vicki I am sure we would become fast friends if we did meet.  She loves to craft, what is there not to love about her?

Here are the rules:
The terms for accepting the award are:

1-) Thank and link back to the person who gave you the award...

2-) Share 7 things about yourself...

3-) Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers... and

4-) Contact the blogger and tell them about the award...

SEVEN THINGS ABOUT ME:

1. My love for crafting began when I was probably six or seven.  My mom showed me how to run her sewing machine and gave me scraps of fabric to practice with.  I started making clothes for my Barbie dolls and the rest is history.

2. I recently started teaching crafting classes in my home.  I have enjoyed this new adventure so much, I am getting to share my love of crafting with others who love it too.  It doesn't get much better than that.

3. I am not the most tidy person in the world.  When I am working on a project it can get pretty cluttered and I can live with that which I am sure would drive most people to drink crazy.  On the other hand I can stand clutter just so long and then I have to get in and clean it all up.

4. I am not very good about getting rid of things, I always think,"I just know I will need that someday".  However, when I watch the show HOARDERS I get creeped out and hope I never get to that point.

5. I CANNOT wash a window without leaving streaks.  Any suggestions on how to get windows clean without getting streaks?

6. I have had lots of good friends throughout my life but never a 'best friend' that I could say 'she is my best friend'.  Not the kind that you keep up with your whole life, the ones you can say have seen you through thick and thin and still loves you anyway. (I am sure it is because I won't let anybody in that deeply into my heart because of fear of rejection.  That is a post for another day or maybe a few counseling sessions).

7. My biggest pet peeve is having to wait on people who are late.  I make every effort to be somewhere on time and it bugs me when people can't make a better effort on their part, (aside from the unforeseen things like emergencies, car break downs etc.).

I NOW PASS THIS AWARD ONTO THESE GREAT PEOPLE:
Laraine @ Larainy days
Jessica @ Life's Blessings
Randy @ Hall's and Critters
Beverly @ The Beverly Buzz
Lori @ My Life Among the Three Stooges

OK, I KNOW I WAS SUPPOSED TO PASS THIS ON TO 15 BLOGGERS BUT I AM A SLACKER , WHAT CAN I SAY.
