Thrift Store Plates to Halloween Decor

I found two of these white plates with the black checkered edges at a thrift store some time last summer thinking I could find something to do with them.  I was inspired to cut out some vinyl and make some Halloween decorations out of them.
Because the plate holder had spaces for three plates I took a smaller plate and added some vinyl bats to accompany the larger plates.

Here is a close up of the two larger plates.

If you are interested in cutting out your own vinyl with your Silhouette the font/dingbat I used was called DB Vintage Halloween.  You can download this font for free here.http://www.searchfreefonts.com/font/db-vintage-halloween.htm

REALLY cute Connie! I was just looking at vinyl in the craft store today - ridiculously expensive! It is so neat you can cut it yourself.
I love the plates and your black star too!

Those turned out great! I found some orange plates last year for cheap that I added some Halloween vinyl to as well. Such an easy and fun idea!!

That is so stinkin' cute! I love it!! I am thinking about getting either a Cricut or a Silhouette for Christmas. Not sure which one I'd like better.

Love 'the witch is in'. I could use that year round as a warning on bad days!
