Last year I got all inspired by the whole 'black and white' pumpkin craze and spray painted perfectly good orange pumpkins white and proceeded to add black accents thinking they would be so chic.................Guess what? I DID NOT like how mine turned out, I just couldn't make myself love them.
this project failed miserably and I just couldn't put them out.
They needed a makeover...BAD!
I had some of these pretty fall paper napkins left from last year and thought they would look much better on these pumpkins. I tore the napkins into different sized pieces and started decoupaging on.
There now, they look more like the fall season instead of the project doomed for the Goodwill box.
Have you ever had a certain project in your mind but when it materialized it looked nothing like you imagined?
Ya, that was my ugly black and white pumpkin experience.
Here's to all crafters who have felt my pain.

Those are super cute! I'm not sure if I could handle plain white pumpkins either.. Oh yes! I've had plenty of projects in my head that look less than stellar once I actually make them :)
All the time. But I have to say, those black and white pumpkins are cute! However! I LOVE what you did with them so much better. They will be adorable all fall, right through Thanksgiving. Your so clever!
Yes! I feel your pain. ;) You're VERY creative to think up that makeover using napkins. Thank you for helping me see outside the box! That's fun! They turned out lovely.
Thosed turned out great and yes I have many a failed project! It is nice to know we all do! Thanx for stopping by earlier!
Love your re-do! I couldn't handle black and white pumpkins, either.
Oh what a great idea! I wouldn't have thought about using napkins to cover them. I have to admit I do love them better than the black and white ones. Great job :)
Adore the new look. They are so fall, and so cute. Thanks for linking. Jen
Extremely cute! They look so much more Fallish now ;o)
Those came out FANTASTIC!! And yes, I do feel your pain as those things happen to me all the time. But I guess if they didn't, we wouldn't have the happy accidents that come next! =)
Love how they turned out! You are such a clever girl! And my projects rarely wind up looking like I thought they would.
p.s. Haven't forgotten your win. Will get it in the mail this week.
I love how they turned out Connie. Very nice!! I'm not much of a "black and white" pumpkin person either. I do like the ribbons though.
I definitely love them better with the autumn napkins covering them. Sometimes we see something like the black & white pumpkins in a magazine or a webpage but it just doesn't mesh with our homes.
Love your redo, too cute!
I definately like the deco pumpkins better than the black and white.
I am a color girl so when I saw that black and white craze I backkkked away! ha ha
No, I can't relate to your dilema. I have NEVER had a craft fail miserably! :) Just kidding! I do love how they turned out. A pretty green ribbon would be cute on them too. Nice job. Maybe I will do some with leaf patterns on them.

I LOVE the black and white pumpkins. :) But I also like the decoupage look. I would have never thought of decoupaging pumpkins. Thanks for sharing your great idea.
p.s. I found your blog through "Craft Gossip".
You might not like how your black & white pumpkins turned out but you have certainly inspired me, now all I have to do is keep my eyes open for pumpkin ornaments & some spray paint ;)
Lady you are so talented. What a great way to make a bleh into a Oh Yeah!
OMGOSH - they look awesome! I tend to have more things turn out completely different that what I imagined...LOL.
