From Shabby Old Window to Chic Home Decor

My first linky party of 2010 that I'm participating in is over at Kimaba's blog, A Soft Place to Land. This is a fun DIY party inwhich many talented people share ideas and things that they have made. Go check out what is new for 2010.

I thought I would share with you an old wood window frame I made for the bazaar. I didn't blog about it because my husband liked it so much {he never comments on anything I make but he REALLY like how this one turned out} that I decided to not sell it in the bazaar and give it to him for Christmas instead. I couldn't blog about it before but now that it is settled on my large shelf in the family room I thought I would do a post about it. I chose some simple and weathered looking scrapbook paper for three of the panes.I then added the vinyl lettering.
I think it looks right at home where it is.
One thing though, I wish I would have had twenty of those to sell at the bazaar, I had so many people interested in buying it. I had put a sold sign on it so my hubby wouldn't become suspicious (then I had to hide it at my daughters house until Christmas). This was the first of my windows that people would look at and then become so disappointed that it said 'sold' on it.

Wow, that looks so awesome! I wouldn't have wanted to sell it either. :) I have some of that same scrapbook paper and just love it.

I can see why so many wanted it!
It's beautiful and simple (in a good way). Very calming to look at, and makes you think about the message.

Great project!

I can see why so many people were disappointed they couldn't have it. It's so cute! Hopefully you'll be able to find some more old windows to transform.

This is gorgeous!!! I have 4 old windows in my attic I have been dying to get at. They were found in an attic of my FIL's neighbor when he passed and he bought the house. One had been used, but the other three had not. I snapped them babies right up. Too bad I didn't grab the bear claw cast iron tub. Not sure where I would have put it anyway. LOL

Hugs,

Cece
