BEJEWELED BY GOLLY

I have been on such a jewelry making kick lately.  Here are the latest additions.

Get Your Craft On Tuesday

This collage consist of some necklace and earrings sets.  The pink set is what I have been working on the last few days.  Believe it or not almost all of the items I have been using was stuff I already had.  I kinda went on a jewelry making kick a couple of years ago and bought a whole bunch of beads and findings (clasps and chains, etc).

This set of earrings are my favorite.  Now I just need to go buy a pretty spring outfit to wear them with.

Can I just tell you how much I love January?  I don't have any pressure of a bazaar barreling down like a freight train or the holiday's looming over me either.  I can make things without the pressure, it's great.

FIRST CRAFT PROJECT OF 2011

Did I ever mention that I LOVE earrings? When I was twelve I got my ears pierced and have had a love affair with earrings ever since.   I just love matching earrings to whatever I am wearing, which could get very expensive if I bought them whenever I bought a new article of clothing.
A friend from church offered to teach a class on jewelry making a couple of years ago where she taught the basics of jewelry making.  That's all it took and I was hooked.

My friend Shawn stopped by just before Christmas and had me help her make a pair of earrings with some beads she had picked up at Michael's.  Then my granddaughter Addison wanted me to make some for her mom for Christmas.
Well, ANYHOOZIT, that just got my juices flowing and I went on to make eight more pairs (one pair were absent for the photo shoot, I forgot they were in the bedroom) for myself.

So that is the extent of my creativity since getting so burned out from my bazaar crafts.
Did you notice that there was no vinyl involved?  I know, that is rare for me to craft without using vinyl.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO MY BLOGGY FRIENDS!

Additions To Craft Bazaar Inventory

I have slowly been working on adding to my bazaar inventory. Lately I have fallen in love with making washer necklaces, they are so easy and fun to make. I'm not sure if you can see the finish on this or not but I have discovered something called Paper Glaze by Aleene's.
It gives a thick layer over the top of the paper. I must say that I was pleased with how this product works.
(No I have not been paid to promote this product. I just couldn't find the Mod Podge Dimensional Magic at either of the craft stores near me.)

I found a tutorial on a blog called Crafts Keep Me Sane on how to make a necklace using several washers. You can check her out here.
Here I have added extra beads and a charm.

I also started working on some Christmas items for the bazaar too. I know it's kind of hard to think about Christmas with the Fourth of July in just three days.

I have seen all kinds of washer necklaces throughout blog land recently and was inspired to make some of my own. The necklace on the left (below) isn't made with a washer but with a jewelry piece that came in a package with a bunch of other beads. I just laced it onto a ribbon and tied the ends.
The one on the right is made with a washer, a scrapbook embellishment, scrapbook paper, Mod Podge and beads.

Wow, I get sidetracked easily. I started out the day working on vinyl lettering projects and ended up making jewelry.
