Holiday Blocks

Here are two sets of blocks that I made for the holidays. Using scrapbook paper is my new "most favorite" medium to combine with vinyl lettering. The possibilites are endless.





Another fun thing to do is to lightly sand the edges of the paper to rough it up then gently rub an ink pad (I used black) around the edge to give it a worn look.

Girl Time Crafting

My grandaughter Addison got to spend a few days with us. She is such a little crafty diva that I thought I would have her help me put together a wreath that I saw over at Amy's blog "Keep'n the Sunny Side.

I purchased about 12 packages of Christmas balls from the dollar store, (2 boxes were from Michaels). This is a quick and fun craft to make and it looks like a million bucks.

One More Show Finished

Well the 2009 Bazaar is over. All of the months and months of crafting and creating are now done and put to bed. Each year I say this will be the last but then along about June I start getting my "crafting itch" and just can't help myself.

Below are a few pictures of the displays and items we had for sale.
Old wood windows go really well. I sold all but one this year, which is really good because I don't need anymore windows stored in the garage. I am now down to about six old windows and hope to get rid of them all. (Hubby would be overjoyed to say the least.)


Here is my daughter Maria taking down the displays after it was over. The take down was done in a record 45 minutes this year. Putting up the whole thing only takes about 4 hours.
This is the only picture I got of my helpers. From left to right: Maria, Natasha (both are my daughters), Elaine and Lynn. Lynn and Elaine make the best hand dipped chocolates in the world and bring them to sell along with my other stuff.

Oh ya, they also make the best tasting pretzles, in the basket on the left. They wrap homemade carmel around a large pretzel then dip it in chocloate then roll in peanuts (they also have rolled them in chopped peans, cashews and almonds which I prefer over peanuts).

Well that's a wrap for this year.

Black and White Obsession? Do Ya Think?

After scrolling through my pictures of the last 6 months I noted that a pattern was emerging. BLACK AND WHITE ARE TAKING OVER MY COLOR PALETTE.

{I really don't have time to be posting about color obsessions but I just had to take a few minutes away from crafting for my own sanity}

Not Missing...Just Busy

I really haven't been sitting around eating bon bons and watching soap operas. I have been putting in some long hours trying to get all of my projects finished for the bazaar. I currently have about 130 items done with at least another 25 -30 that I want to complete before next Friday. If you live in the state of Washington and have nothing better to do then come to a small town called Elma (about 20 miles west of Olympia) where one of the best bazaars around is being held. It is held at the Grays Harbor county fairgrounds on November 21-22. Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mention you saw my blog and get 20% discount off of one item. Here is a bargain I found at a thrift store for $4.00She ain't pretty or very clean.
But I could see some possibilities in her.


Some black paint and some pretty cherry fabric gave this little magazine table a fresh start.I can't decide if I should put some red lettering on the bottom panel. What do you think? How about "Magazines" or "Inspire" or ???

MONKEYING AROUND

While out and about on Halloween we went to our son's house and he had a very special little trick or treater. His name is Yoda and he had the cutest costume ever. He was so much fun. The first thing he does when strangers come in is to go to the males and immediately try to make friends with them. He will hug and snuggle right up to all adult males because in the wild the adult males will kill the young males unless they feel like they they need to protect them. It is instinct to get in good with all males first to guarantee their safety.
Here he was bonding with Kent. He will go to women just fine, in fact he eventually found his way to my lap for some soothing female handling.

He really is a sweetheart. Yoda is definitely fun to be around but I'm afraid he could be very high maintenance. (Kind of like grandchildren, fun to be around but the responsibility and energy level needed is pretty high).

Another favorite place to be is perched high so he can check everything out.
