Thanksgiving Charger

Have you seen these beautiful charger plates at Walmart?  They are plastic but look so elegant and festive.  By adding some vinyl lettering they are turned into a beautiful way to express thanks.
They are currently on sale for $2 each at my local Walmart.  At that price why not get some for your Thanksgiving table too.
(I was not compensated in any way to promote these plates.  I just wanted to pass along the info for you thrifty shoppers.)

Another Canvas With Vinyl

I was really happy with how this canvas turned out.  I just love working with vinyl, it is so versitile and fun to come up with new original designs.

Sorry about the poor quality of photo, my computer has been  having...ummm problems, to put it mildly.  My photo editing program has been lost and I need to decide which program I want to go with.  Any suggestions for free down loadable photo editing program that is easy to use?

Reversible Autumn/Winter Blocks

I did manage to get some crafting done in between babies being born.
I have been wanting to make some reversible blocks for Autumn and Winter since I did the ones earlier for Spring and Summer, you can see those here. Autumn on one side and Winter on the other.

I also managed to get another craft done for the bazaar.

Beautiful Fall Decor Shout Out

I came across a blog with the most yummy looking fall decor on her porch. Don't you just love the polka dot pumpkins and the green apples? Too cute, go check out Deck The Halls Of Home With Joy and see for yourself.

I came across directions on You Tube for these adorable fabric flowers and knew it was something I had to try. I got the fabric from my sweet friend Christine from Christine's Favorite Things. She has a web site called FABRICALLY DELICIOUS where she sells all kinds of cut fabrics ready for quilting or other crafting projects. There are some adorable fabrics to choose from. These flowers were cut from 'Charm Packs', (pre-cut 5" squares of fabric), this one is called Basket of Flowers by Mary Engelbreit. Here is a close up of the one on the left...
... and this is a close up of the one on the right.
Now I need to make something cute that needs embellishments so I can use these flowers
I also got another sign finished for my bazaar inventory.

Vintage Birds Nest

I follow a blog called The Graphics Fairy that offers free downloads of vintage pictures (if you haven't had a chance to check her out I would recommend doing it soon, like AFTER you read this post, lol). I found this cute birds nest, which was just black and white. I downloaded it and then colored the eggs with a colored pencil. I also lightly colored the leaves and part of the nest too. I then Mod Podged it onto a canvas that I painted black. I also did a fun technique with the black paint {I explained how I did it below}. Adding some cute blue polka dot ribbon finished off this project.
Look closely at the canvas part and you will see a pattern that I created by blotting the wet paint with a wadded up paper towel to gently lift off some of the paint. Love the effect it made and I apologize that it can't be seen better in the picture. Trust me, it's cool!
I am linking up with Life As Lori for her crafty party.
Get your craft on Thurs.

"NEST" INSPIRATION

Nest Sentiment Lumbar Pillow from Pottery Barn.

My daughter found this pillow in the Pottery Barn catalog and suggested I make a wall hanging using this idea. I don't like to copy exactly so I chose different fonts and a different (but similar) definition for the word nest. I really like the brown bow attached to it too.
This is on an 8x10 canvas that I painted a soft beige and then I added the brown vinyl lettering and the ribbon/bow.
{Thanks Maria for the suggestion}

PHOTO HOLDERS

I had somebody order fourteen of these cute photo holders that are made from large wooden clothes pins.
I just cut scrapbook paper to fit and glued it on with Elmers glue. I then took a black ink pad and brushed the edges. Then I added the custom names. EASY PEASY!

There are a couple of different sizes that the clothes pins come in. These happen to be 2" wide by 9" long.

These would make great father's day gifts for dad's desk. Just pick some scrapbook paper to fit his personality and add a photo.

Added Note: I bought the clothes pins at Craft Warehouse in Vancouver, Washington. I think they are only located in the North West (Oregon and Washington). Check at your local craft store or try Provo Craft.

There have been some changes at Creations by Kara. Check it out and browse the links that have joined the Look What I Made party

Pretty Maids All In A Row

I thought I would share with you some really cute little vases I found at JoAnn's. I am also in love with Gerber Daisies so I thought they would look really cute individually in these vases, and they looked adorable.
THE QUESTION IS: do they look better on the shelf with the birds and birdhouse or... ...in the window sill? I can't decide. Either way they make me smile because of their simplicity.
Where would you put them?
