PROBLEMS WITH COMMENTING

Dear blogging friends,
There are several blogs I follow and comment on a regular basis but I have become frustrated with the comments section of some of your blogs.  Anyone that has the "select profile" drop down box, where you choose from a list of ways to identify yourself will NOT let me use my my usual google account button.  I have composed so many comments only to have them go blank when I try to enter them.  On some blogs it will let me leave an anonymous comment, but not everyone's will let me even do that.

I am especially concerned that some blogs I have commented consistently on might think I don't follow them anymore.  Two that come to mind are Dawn at Momza's and Saimi at My Dog Archie.

If anyone has a solution I would love to hear about it.

Thanks,
Connie

  1. I've heard some people have to use another browser to look at blogs. Like use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. In fact, I was having a problem with something and started using Firefox and the problem went away.

  2. I've had a lot of problems with some of those same blogs and I love to comment. When I can't it frustrates me to no end! I have no answer other than I log into my google account first thing then I go visit blogs and usually I don't have problems. When I've tried to go to the blog first then tried to leave a comment I lose the comment while I have to go log it. I wish there was just a standardized method that everyone use *sigh*

  3. I followed the advice of a blogger friend that told me to go into my comment section on blogger and do the following....

    Dashboard
    Settings
    Comments
    Click Pop-Up Window
    Then Save Settings

I think this enabled You (connie) to now comment on my blog. Hope this helps someone.

  4. Hi Connie, I've had the same problems, it's very frustrating. I also had problems doing posts.
I too read somewhere that it's to do with Internet explorer (5?), and using Firefox works better. Sigh!
Wish IE would sort out the problem.

  5. I have the same problem with some blogs. I have found that if I do not check that box when I am signing in that says "Stay signed it" then for some reason it lets me comment but if that box is checked then it won't. Weird stuff!

  7. I was having this trouble too.
I finally searched on the internet and found a solution.
    Just use the Safari browser.
It hasn't given me trouble since.

I don't know why things started getting messed up and was glad to have this fix.

  8. I haven't had any problems commenting, but haven't received many comments lately on my blog. Wonder if this is why. Or if it's just me...
