TO VENT OR NOT TO VENT?

I WAS WATCHING "THE TALK"  (love that show, it is much better than The View )AND THEY POSED THE QUESTION,
"IS IT HEALTHY TO VENT OR IS IT COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE?

In the past I have had a Tuesday feature called "Tell It Like It Is" where I offered the opportunity for anyone who felt the need to vent about something to just get it off their chest and leave it in the comment section.  I haven't done that in awhile and was wondering if it is something I should offer again.

So what is your opinion on venting?  Is it helpful for you to vent to someone to get something off your mind or do you think it just feeds the fire?  I would love to hear your take on this subject.

  2. I'm not one to vent. I just deal with things and move on but others might still like your Tell it like it is Tuesday.

  4. Yes! Please do it again. I often wish my family and friends didn't read my blog, so I could be more open and honest about some things. Your Tuesdays gave me a place to do that!

  5. I think venting is a very good way to just let it all out. Plus sometimes you feel better afterwards, I know that I don't vent enough. If you offered it again, I probably would link up :)

  6. Vent, vent.
    Better out than in!
Just can't think of anything TO vent about at the moment, but maybe soon..

  7. As you know I have been wondering what to do about this myself. I have chosen to vent privately, which is the right decision for me.
I usually get over whatever it is pretty quickly and I don't want to keep something in writing forever.

  8. Venting is not good for me in a work situation.
    It gets out of control.

I can talk to my hubby about it, he keeps me grounded and put into perspective.

  9. I do vent on occasion. I think its good to get things "off your chest". However I try not to make a habit of it.

  10. Hey there, Good Morning! I came here to vent... I don't know what type of hydrangea it was in my photo from over on the coast. There goes my so called 'garden guru ~ green thumb ~ know it all ~ fabulous gardener' reputation. Ahem.... grin!

  11. Venting to someone who can give you perspective and keep you in check is a very healthy way to deal with problems. If you can vent....get it all out and leave it forever...that too is healthy. But if your venting causes you to obsess about the problem...then it becomes unhealthy. I am lucky enough to have several people that I can vent to that help me talk through a situation and then either solve it or leave it by the side of the road.

  12. Venting for sure! I always feel better getting things out and then I calm down and move on. As you know when I call and wail about different things in my life. Thanks for always listening, by the way.
